I started Dr. Boyd Mobile Chiropractic to be able to give patients the quality of care they need to heal optimally in the comfort of their own home or office. One of the key components of house calls is being able to spend sufficient time with each patient so they get all the one on one treatment with me they need. I started my Miami, FL practice in 2012 before coming to Los Angeles. In the past there were several times in practice when I wished my practice was set up so that I could spend more time with my patients. Longer appointments enable patients to heal faster. However it is very difficult to do this in a traditional chiropractic office. I also realized that when I was able to spend more time with a patient they felt more comfortable talking to me about their condition and they would often tell me something related to their health that they otherwise would not have told me. This is very important for the doctor-patient relationship.
I also noticed there were many patients that missed appointments because it was too difficult for them to get to the office consistently due to their busy schedules. This often came up when patients were not able to leave work early to come to the office. Another common scenario was that mothers had a difficult time coming in because they didn’t have someone to watch their children and they were not comfortable leaving their children alone in the waiting room. I have also treated many families and know they often have difficulty getting everyone into the car and to the office at the same time with everyone’s conflicting schedules. I have also seen many pregnant patients have difficulty getting to the office because of discomfort and pain from being pregnant which is the reason they were suppose to come in the first place. So I realized that if I can come to my patients they will get optimal care because I will be able to spend the time they deserve with them and they will be able to get chiropractic care without the stress of getting to the office.
